I have owed carpet cleaners for over 10 years and use them in my home. I previously owned Bissell brand machines. Had a total of three. The first one was great, left carpet clean and fairly dry, so when it was time to replace I tried the new Bissells with 12 rows of carpet cleaners and heat….total disapointments. They left the carpet totally wet, leaked dirty water, nightmares…so back to Costco they went.
I decided on the Hoover SteamVac after reading the reviewes here. My experince so far has been that this machine is an over all good household cleaner, but has a couple of drawbacks.
Pros:
1. Great suction – leaves carpets only slightly moist – exactly what I would expect for quick dry times.
2. Separate clean and dirty water containers (easier to gauge need to refill/empty)
3. Hand tool has rotating brushes.
4. “CLEAN SURGE” deposits more cleaning solution.
Cons:
1. No way to stop the suction and have scrubbers do the work.
2. No additional heat added to the solution.
3. Hand tool hose not easily connected.
4. Hand tool hose feels ‘cheap’
re Cons. 1. Previous carpet cleaners I owned had a way to have the brushes continue rotating without suction. This machine uses the power of the suction to turn the brushes, it’s either both, or none. Same for the hand held tool.
2. Other machines add heat to the solution to keep it warm or heat it up. Once your solution is cold on this machine, it is cold on the floor. Not a major draw back but not a pro.
3. Connecting the hand tool hose is not very straight forward. Had to look at the instructions a couple of times before I figured it out. Have to connect to two different spots. Putting it away took looking at the instructions as well.
4. Don’t know how long the tool will last, but it doesn’t feel as high quality as others I have used.
Over all good buy for light to moderate house use. Worth the $$ I paid for it.

The best word I can use to describe how I am feeling after reading this book is overwhelmed. First of all, I am an avid reader, but mostly of biographies. Occasionally I get bored and want to sink my teeth into (no pun intended) a good piece of fiction. There are book lovers at my dentist office. Mostly we discuss Harry Potter, but on more than on occasion, people were mentioning the “Twilight” books. My dentist said that when his wife started reading these books she kind of neglected the family for awhile, such was her passion for devouring them. I like the idea of reading a “saga” of books; Lord knows I adored Harry Potter. When I read in an advertisement for the “Twilight” books ‘Move over Harry Potter’, I decided to put the lot of them on my Amazon Wish List. Once I started reading the first book “Twilight”, it was like it took over my life. I took the book everywhere so I could read it as much as possible. I read it on the bus, before I punched in at work, my lunch hour, in between caring for my son, etc. I usually take a long time to finish reading a book. Well, I finished ALL FOUR books in the saga within about two weeks! This is utterly unheard of for me. Secondly, I never want to re-read a book. I used to do that when I read books as a child, but I guess now that I’m older I feel like life’s too short and I should move on to the next book. Well, I am now reading the first book for the third time! The critical point to the appeal of this book is the central character, Edward Cullen. If he was a human you would say, “What a beautiful human being he is, inside and out!” But, he is forever a 17 year old vampire. Because he was actually born in 1901, he has a lovely way of speaking- genteel, knowledgeable and respectful. The dialogue in this book is delicious, riveting and oh, so satisfying. This is an incredible, old-fashioned love story which just happens to include a vampire. If you read this book, you will fall in love with Edward too-

I ordered one of these right after the new step-on feature was added to this model. Was a little worried that they would ship me one of the old ones, in which case I was prepared to ship it right back. But no, they sent me the correct model with the new features and I couldn’t be happier. The step-on feature works great, time after time, just step on the scale, get your weight, no fuss, no muss. The scale is really accurate with repeatable results, I tested it over and over, adding various small amounts of weight. Best scale I’ve ever had.

I love pretty much every aspect of my Kindle except for the fact that I can’t LEND my books to my sister, or my mother, or even my husband. Right now, my husband is reading one of my Kindle books, so I had to give up the Kindle so he can finish the book. How frustrating. If I could just transfer it to his Kindle for a bit, that would be so handy, and then he could pass it back when he is done. Amazon’s competitor, the Nook allows lending. When will KINDLE allow lending too?

The thing is pretty simple so it’s not like there’s a lot to review.
One thing I’ve disliked about every OTHER scale I’ve ever used (except for the calibrated balances at the Dr’s offices) is that not only do they vary all over the map, but they are not even repeatable. You get on the things, they tell you you weigh X. You get off and step right back on and they tell you you weigh X +/- a few pounds (or even more.) It is frustrating and misleading at the very least.
Not this thing, just tap it with your foot to wake it up (or tap it twice if it’s sound asleep), wait for it to zero itself out, and step on it. Done. And it’s repeatable.
And I appreciate the fact that it doesn’t look like the same spring scales that have adorned bathrooms/workout-rooms for the better part of a century… It looks sleak and modern and, well, functional. And as others have said, I appreciate that the dial is easily readable, even from 6+ feet away!
Anyways, a simple, easy to read, repeatable, reliable, attractively styled product that performs a simple function with simple features and functionality and does so well.

Easy set up. Stretch gently while waiting for satellites to configure; best use of that 3 minutes. Accuracy is great!

I have 2 copies, one for the house and one for the car. I have read this book over and over. I’m just kinda crazy about it. I found out that Kennedy’s and John Lennon’s assassins and the guy who shot Reagan all had copies of this book. Kinda creepy but still a good, fun read.

Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue by Neale Donald Walsch is a thought provoking book about one man’s relation with God. Walsch spends years writing down questions about religion and God on a legal pad. Out of the blue God starts answering them. It becomes quite complex at times. It’s just nice to see people are interested in what God has to say in this day and age.
If you’re so inclined, and want to read the messages God gave to a man who prayed 1,000,000 prayers than you definitely want to read this Great new book I found about faith, Jesus, God’s message and what we will do in the after-life entitled “The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers: A Message for Everyone,” by John H. Eagan. It’s really fantastic and the message from God is just amazing. I think the readers of Walsch’s book will really enjoy The Enlightenment. I can’t recommend it enough!

The Passing Show is a superb introduction to the singular musical vision of Ronnie Lane. Ronnie believed in life, music, friends, and having a good time, despite tremendous obstacles and hardships. You’ll definitely want some Ronnie Lane music to accompany this. I would recommend starting with Just for a Moment, You Can Never Tell, or Kuschty Rye depending mainly on which is more easily available. Rocket 69 is a fine live performance, while his four original albums are also all good. Of course, his Small Faces (esp. Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake), Faces (esp. A Nod is as Good as a Wink), and collaborations (esp. Rough Mix), are also good to excellent, although his solo recordings probably offer more insight into his musical personality vision. But, even if you are not familiar with, or perhaps don’t care that much for, Ronnie Lane’s music, the Passing Show is still a highly entertaining movie.

Tried to tighten up the o ring and the mirror went flying off and broke. Otherwise a good product…you just have to be careful with the installation.
