No other film could have captured the grandeur of Led Zeppelin and incorporated an insight on the band members and their adventures and personalities than “The Song Remains the Same.” Even if you were not a wild child of the 70’s (like myself), you got the feel of the times and the concert, and the emotions of the audience leaked through onto you. It is my favorite movie, because there is nothing I love more than Led Zeppelin. I laughed, danced, and cried through out this film.
The film starts out oddly with Richard Cole in a mob scene and Peter Grant getting tour dates, but is a quiet transition into what the picturesque daily lives of all 4 members are…and it is truly sweet. For example, Robert is with his kids and wife, as is Jonesy, Bonzo is farming, and Jimmy is playing a hurdy-gurdy in a lovely autumn setting. But you totally feel the love and overall high of New York City in the 1970’s, venturing through out subway tunnels and skyscraping buildings…to the sounds of Zeppelin LIVE!!
Each band member has their own scene in which their “theme” song, if you will,is performed and each of them get to be a little dramatic through amateur acting (and they don’t do half bad…but their musical performance is a million times better!). The members and their songs are as follows, along with a brief description of the scene :
“No Quarter”-John Paul(A dark horseback rider [Jonesy] in the night, playing a church organ)
“Dazed and Confused”-Pagey(Mysterious and insane things that REALLY make you think about your own life)
“The Rain Song”-Robert(Dramatic LOTR type acting…but very daring)
“Moby Dick”-Bonzo(The maniac himself doing his best)
It is a lenghthy movie, but if you are a true fan you will not get bored. It is so natural, and the concert spectacular, for this is Zeppelin at their peak. I HIGHLY recommend it, before any concert movie by ANY artist.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer is an enjoyable fantasy book that I would recommend to kids of all ages. The story opens in the bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. Artemis Fowl and his servant, Butler, are meeting a man who has promised to introduce them to a fairy. After meeting a weak fairy who has been drained of magic by rice wine, they trick her into sharing her secret fairy book with them in exchange for saving her life. The book, which contains all the rules and secrets of the world’s fairies, is photographed by Artemis and e-mailed to his server for safe keeping. Meanwhile, Captain Holly Short, a LEPrecon (Lower Elements Policeman) enters a pod in the fairy city near the center of the earth that will shoot her out of a vent to fight a troll who has escaped to the earth’s surface. Little does she know that soon after that she will be kidnapped by Artemis Fowl!
Artemis Fowl is a character with a plan. He is a driven, wealthy twelve year old who wants to steal fairy gold. In the beginning of the book he is described as an extremely pale young man who seems to have no friends except his servant, Butler. He is a bright, tech genius who is not in school because his mother is loosing her mind. My favorite part of the book was reading about how he is training himself to become a criminal mastermind. Right before he meets with Commander Root to negotiate for Fowl’s fairy hostage, he prepares for the interaction by concentrating on how he will act. “Artemis put on his best sinister face. Evil, he told himself, evil but highly intelligent. And determined, don’t forget determined. He put a hand on the doorknob. Steady now. Deep breaths, and try not to think about the possibility that you have misjudged this situation and you are about to be shot dead.” (Colfer 213)
The underground fairy world in Artemis Fowl is an incredibly imaginative creation. Although we are told a limited amount about the underground city, we are thrown into a fantastic description of Captain
Z50 LED Light Head
Surpassed expectations. When I was bike commuting 14 miles every morning in the dark, I needed floodtides of light … and I spent big bucks to get it. Now I’m older, wiser, and have scaled back the morning ride … taking the bus most of the way, but riding all the way back in the afternoon. So I needed a good, strong light for two short jaunts … one to the bus stop and another from the drop-off point to my office … about a mile each. And the roads were lightly traveled, but dark.
Not wanting to shell out the hundreds of dollars I had in the past, I tried some of the cheaper lights … all of which were very disappointing. But after reading the reviews on this Planet Bike 3044 Blaze 1-Watt LED Headlight , it seemed worthy of a try.
And it exceeded my expectations by a long shot … providing a strong beam ahead of me right where I need it, with reasonably long battery life. It also provides enough light from the side to be seen, but doesn’t shine in my eyes, as some of the other models did.
Nice to have two levels of lighting, and also nice to be able to turn on the strobe flash … great for overcast afternoons on the way home … or just to enhance my visibility to anyone in front of me.
A great value for short rides in the dark.
Great piece of safety gear. Definitely the coolest and most effective way to be safe and seen if you’re on the road in a low light situation. I wear mine running and cycling. Very compact and light weight. A quality product.
Blinky Lights. Good lights, easy installation. Only down side, and Planet Bike Blinky Safety 1-Led Bicycle Light Set was expected is projection distance of front light.
