As I watched the film I kept thinking that it is a smart, interesting, shocking picture that is best suited for adults who like unconvential movies. Much of it is. Vanilla Sky is a well acted movie. Cruise, Cruz, and Diaz are Great in these roles! Jason Lee gets little credit, but he is equally as good.

So what could be so wrong with an interesting movie with great perfomances written and dircted by Oscar winner Cameron Crowe? The last 1/3 of it. Not only does it take too many turns towards the end, but the resolution offered is like it was quickly put together at the last minute to try and make the movie make sense. The ending is almost as bas as the one thrown together for last year’s A.I.

If you spend money to see this movie, don’t go expecting a normal film. It is worth the time to see some great performances. Hint: If you leave at the blackout towards the end after Cruise pounds on glass while watching a dog on TV, you will leave with loose ends untied, but be spared the atrocity which is the final product.

First one we ever bought. Got this for my wife who is slightly technology challenged and she loves it. She is still learning the ins and out but got it one day and she was using it the very next and was all geeked about it. Wasn’t too big for her and didn’t feel she needed a sweat band on her wrist like lots of others have to do with the older version. Thinking of getting a bike mount for it and using it on the mountain biking trails. Will get a better understanding on how well it works in the trees that way!

#1 I believe in God, but not to the extent that I’m right of center.
#2 This is the only book I freely admit to having thrown into the trash bin.

I really like this movie. “One For My Baby (and One More For the Road” and “A Lot in Common” are great songs, and Fred Astaire (my favorite performer ever) did such wonderful dances I have to watch each one at least two times. Joan Leslie keeps up with Astaire, which I praise her for. The only bad part was the terribly sad and incomplete (in my opinion) ending. But I suggest you watch this movie. You won’t be sorry.

I read a lot, I mean really a lot. I read between an hour and two hours every night, and sometimes am reading two books at a time. If you read a lot, and travel any at all, then the Kindle Reader is your perfect reading companion. It holds hundreds of books, so it’s like carrying a library around in one “book” not much larger than a paper back. It includes a built-in dictionary, so if you run across a word that you’re not familiar with, you simply move the curser to that word and the dictionary definition pops up at the bottom of the screen. In addition, most of the classics are free since they are not under copyright: so classics like Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe, Sherlock Holmes, etc… can be downloaded completely free for future reading. And the downloading is so easy: the average-size book can be downloaded in about 60 seconds using Amazon’s Whisper System and the downloading is totalling free. I dropped my first one and couldn’t wait for the replacement to be delivered. That’s another plus: all of my previously purchased books were still on file under my account on Amazon’s server, so I could download them all again for no charge. Also, if you have an IPhone, you can download Amazon’s free reader for IPhone and all of your Kindle books are available to be downloaded to your phone for no additional charge. It’s truly hard to beat this amazing product.

This was the best card to have – I never had to worry about which photos to save – I saved them all 1,119 photos and I still had way more space. GREAT!

Blues for an Alabama The story is great but i was expecting a book not a play to read through. Many plays and novels have dealt with blacks during the 30’s with a theme that concentrates on the effect of the migration …

This 1993 movie was suggested to me by my Amazon friend, C. Christopher Blackshere. He was so right! This film has just become one of my all time favorites! If you like “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “Alien”, then this is definitely for you. It has one twist though—it is based on a true story of an alien abduction that happened on November 5, 1975. A group of loggers headed by Mike (Robert Patrick), were working on a government contract clearing out part of the forest in the White Mountains (near Snowflake, Arizona). They had to finish the job within a short time, so they worked into the night. While returning to their small town, the 6 men saw a “fire in the sky”. They thought it maybe a forest fire and realized that the road they were on was the only one in or out of the forest. Mike pulled the truck over to get a better look. Travis (D.B. Sweeney), got out of the truck and ran to the “fire” despite the other guys trying to persuade him to stay in the truck. It turned out to be this incredibly large UFO. Travis was looking at it while the other guys are just screaming at him to get back in the truck. The UFO “zaps” him and they figured he was dead. Mike returned a short time later to look for his body, but didn’t find one. They told their story to the local police and an investigator (James Garner). The remaining 5 guys were being interviewed on a murder charge, as no everyone believed their story. They all agreed to take a lie detector test which they all passed. Travis returned five days later without having any food or water and was severely dehydrated and was taken to the hospital. The last part of the movie, deals with his ordeal of being kidnapped, taken away and having medical experiments done to him by aliens. This movie kept me on edge the entire time! I NEVER was bored! The last 10 minutes of this movie terrified me more than any horror film I ever saw. It is the best thrill ride you could ever be on, at the expense of T
